Rose Horst is a physicist trying to ramp up her career with a paper on the multiverse, but things go wrong when the multiversal police try to stop her plans.

This film idea begins with my love for sci-fi, the aesthetic and the underlying themes of science and discovery were always foundations in my life. Both my grandfathers and grandmothers were inspiration for this.

Carlito, my paternal grandfather was a chemist and successful businessman. Adir, my maternal grandfather was an accountant for the City Hall for many decades, surviving a dictatorship inside the government.

They were the main inspiration for Rose, a young scientist that discovered the multiverse. Lucy was inspired by both my grandmothers. Rosa, my paternal grandmother has the biggest heart of all, love is her main motivation in life.

She had 4 kids, 13 grandkids, and we’re counting more than 20 great-grandkids. Loving each and everyone was never a burden, she always remembered everyone.

My maternal grandmother, Leony, is a hard working woman, she has the energy of a millions suns, until she suffered a stroke that put her in a wheelchair. Both of them had a power to see light even in the darkest of the days.

My grandmothers thought me much about love, family and perseverance. They are my main inspiration in life and seeing them aging makes me feel very different feelings about life, specially being far from them.

The past couple of years were emotionally hard for me and my family with many traumas happening in a short time. I needed to reconnect to my family and roots, make amends, heal and speak up all at the same time.

This movie is not a representation of my life, but a projection of my inner desire of healing with my past so I can move forward to the future. I try to bring nostalgic ideas with contemporary popular trends such as the comeback of the 2000s, the multiverse that resonates and connects to my story, hoping that others can connect to these ideas. The multiverse travel is a desire to escape and to have control over bad things that happen to us.

The ultimate weapon against suffering, leaving to another place and time completely. In the multiverse all our dreams and desires come true. The comedy comes from a deeper place, both sides of my family always praised humor, jokes and enjoying life.

Setting your aunt’s alarm clock to beep at 3 am without no one knowing? Check. Annoy your cousins until they get mad? Check. Make a party every weekend just because we feel like it? Check.

Adding to the traumas in the past years I developed clinical depression and it deprived me of joy whatsoever, so my healing process comes with adding more comedy to my life and my work.
